MAUI – Work furlough inmate LeRoy Wright was captured and returned last night (Saturday) to the Maui Community Correctional Center (MCCC).
Wright left MCCC to go to work at 2:45 p.m. on September 30. During the work day a MCCC corrections officer went to Wright’s place of employment to check on him. Wright fled when he saw the corrections officer. Maui Police were notified.
Wright was serving time for Burglary 1. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges. He was tentatively approved for parole to begin on October 14.
The 37-year old Wright is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level.
