MAUI – Work furlough inmate LeRoy Wright left the Maui Community Correctional Center (MCCC) to go to work at 2:45 p.m. yesterday. During the work day a MCCC corrections officer went to Wright’s place of employment to check on him. Wright fled when he saw the corrections officer. Maui Police were notified.
Wright was serving time for Burglary 1. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges. He was tentatively approved for parole to begin on October 14.
The 37 year-old Wright is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level. Wright is 6’0″, weighs 177 lbs. and has brown hair and brown eyes. He also has tattoos on his neck that can be seen in the picture provided.
