About 27 hours after being reported missing, the Missing Persons Case involving Teresa A. Theise came to a happy conclusion. At 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Maui Police Detective Dennis Lee of the Criminal Investigation Division was able to locate the woman. Theise was found to be in good health. The Maui Police Department wishes to thank the public and media for assisting in this investigation.
The story began Friday at about 3:36 p.m., when Police were notified that Teresa Theise, a 71 year-old woman from Wailuku, went missing. Ms. Theise has a history of Alzheimer’s.
An Alzheimer counselor familiar with the woman’s case informed police that Ms. Theise had called her from the parking lot of the Maui Medical Center, Wailuku, then went missing.
Police conducted checks at the Maui Medical Center and her last known address, but were unable to locate the lady.
Public tips phoned into MPD offered enough information to create and follow a course – eventually leading to her discovery – in good health to boot! MPD to the rescue again!
