Maui Police are now seeking the public’s help in addressing the recent flurry of automated teller machine thefts and attempted thefts.
In a press release today, MPD spokesman Lt. William Juan said, “There have been several burglaries and thefts involving ATMs and other stolen property. These crimes have occurred from various businesses and locations at The Maui Mall, The Maui Arts and Cultural Center, The Waiehu Golf Course and the Shops at Ma’alaea.
“Several incidents have occurred with the suspects using stolen vehicles to enter the premises and removing the ATMs as well as other properties. The total amount of financial loss in these crimes remains under investigation. Police are continuing to track down all leads and information and are asking for the public’s assistance in reporting all suspicious activities.”
Lieutenant Juan added that no one has been arrested in relation to these crimes and the possibility of any of these crimes being connected remains under investigation.
