Maui Police say that, at 7 a.m. Saturday, December 20th, two unknown suspects drove into the Maui Mall and were able to uproot an ATM from anchors in the ground. However, they were not able to load the device into their vehicle, so they fled. The ATM sustained damage to the tune of $20,000. There is no further information upon which MPD can build its investigation. Anyone with any information on the would-be heist is asked to call the MPD non-emergency line at 264-6400.
