EVENT: The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for the Island of MAUI, in effect until 10:45 p.m. This Warning may need to be extended if flash flooding persists.
A Flood Watch is also in effect until Wednesday evening.
EFFECTS: At 7:36 p.m. radar showed heavy rain near Waikapu and Kahului. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary. Other locations in the warning include, but are not limited to, Wailuku and Waiehu. Click to view the latest animated radar.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLASH FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN STREAMS, ROADS AND LOW LYING AREAS. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW, DO NOT CROSS FAST FLOWING OR RISING WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE OR ON FOOT. TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN.
