The National Weather Service has CONTINUED a HIGH SURF ADVISORY for EAST FACING SHORES of MOLOKAI and MAUI which is in effect until 6 p.m. tonight.
A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area, producing rip currents and localized beach erosion.
EFFECTS: A north northeast swell combined with wind waves will continue to produce elevated choppy surf along most east facing shores. Expect surf of 6 to 9 feet along east facing shores through this afternoon.
Forecast surf heights are estimates of the height of the face or front of waves.
EXPECT STRONG BREAKING WAVES, SHOREBREAK, AND STRONG LONGSHORE AND RIP CURRENTS, MAKING SWIMMING DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS.
