A California woman, concluding a stay on Lana’i this week was arrested for Theft in the Second Degree.
At 12:48 a.m. Wednesday morning this week, 37 year-old Sally Gracia of Upland, CA, was placed under arrest. Maui Police say that, upon leaving the Four Seasons Lodge at Koele, Gracia was found in possession of hotel items worth a combined total of $750. All of the stolen items were returned to the hotel, charges were filed for Second Degree Theft and Gracia was released after posting $1,000 in bail money.
But there’s more.
About seven hours later, around 7:50 Wednesday morning, Gracia was arrested at the Lana’i Airport. Police say their investigation determined that Gracia had checked two bags with the airline. A luggage search revealed she was in possession of a stolen computer belonging to Hawaiian Airlines. The computer was valued at $1,500. Police booked Gracia again – on a second Second Degree Theft charge accumulated in less than eight hours. Gracia was released after posting $5,000 bail.
We’re not sure where she went next.
