The National Weather Service has continued the HIGH SURF ADVISORY for NORTH FACING SHORES of MOLOKAI and MAUI, in effect through 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
EFFECTS: A long period northwest swell has arrived today. Another reinforcing pulse of northwest swell will arrive overnight tonight and peak Friday. This swell will then gradually diminish from Friday night through the weekend.
Expect surf of 12 to 16 feet tonight, building to 15 to 20 feet Friday on north facing shores.
Forecast surf heights are estimates of the height of the face or front of waves.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: EXPECT STRONG BREAKING WAVES, SHORE BREAK, AND STRONG LONGSHORE AND RIP CURRENTS, MAKING SWIMMING DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. BEACHGOERS, SWIMMERS, AND SURFERS SHOULD HEED ALL ADVICE GIVEN BY OCEAN SAFETY OFFICIALS AND EXERCISE CAUTION.
