The National Weather Service has issued a HIGH SURF ADVISORY for NORTH and WEST FACING SHORES of MOLOKAI and NORTH FACING SHORES OF MAUI, in effect from 6:00 p.m. this evening through 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
EFFECTS: A long period northwest swell will begin to affect the state today, then build quickly tonight, peaking late tonight and Friday. This swell will then gradually diminish from Friday night through the weekend.
Surf heights building to 12 to 16 feet tonight and 15 to 20 feet Friday on north facing shores. Building to 8 to 12 feet tonight and 10 to 14 feet Friday on west facing shores.
Forecast surf heights are estimates of the height of the face or front of waves.
