There are still only a few details available about a woman who fell and injured her arm and head in the Bamboo Forest Monday. At 2:58 p.m., Maui Fire Department units from Pa’ia and Kahului, along with the Air-1 chopper, were dispatched to Hana Highway (360), Mile Marker 6.5. Dispatchers told first responders a 911 caller had reported that a woman had fallen at the second pool and suffered a possible head injury.
On the scene Pa’ia’s Engine 2 crew interviewed the caller who confirmed the report but said he was unable to provide any information about her condition. He said she fell about 15 feet. Rescue 10 and Air-1 located the victim at 3:27 p.m. They secured and airlifted her to a landing zone where Medic-2 and Air Med 1 were standing by. The patient is a 30 year-old woman, visiting Maui. She suffered injuries to her arm and head but was conscious when transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
The report does not include the victim’s name or hometown, and her condition as of this morning also has not been released.
