The identity of a man who died while diving off DT Fleming Beach Park in Napili has been released. He is 43 year-old Christopher Kuwada, a resident of Waikapu.
Just after noon today, Maui Fire and Rescue Units from Napili and Lahaina along with Ocean Safety Watercraft JS3 were dispatched to DT Fleming park when the Teralani III Catamaran recovered dive gear about a half-mile offshore from Flemings. However, no diver was seen in the area. An ocean search was conducted by Ocean Safety Lifeguards and Firefighters, with Air-1 and Rescue 10 personnel conducting an aerial search.
