Maui Police have issued an All-Points Bulleting in a missing person case. The man they are looking for is 44 year-old John Flavin, who was reported missing by friends on the morning of July 4th near Kaupo in east Maui.
At about 3 p.m. that day, Maui Police and Fire Department crews were assigned to the area of known as Plenty Keawe in Kaupo regarding a missing person case. Flavin, whose last known address was in Kula, was last seen sleeping in his vehicle at Plenty Keawe camp site in Kaupo. At approximately 9 a.m. that morning, friends camping with Flavin noticed him missing. Flavin’s vehicle was left at the campsite, but, no signs of him. Police, Fire Department, and Air-1 Rescue searched for Flavin in the Kaupo area, however, were unable to locate him.
The Criminal Investigation Division has opened an investigation into this incident. An All Points Bulletin was issued for John Flavin. He is described as Caucasian, five feet eight inches tall and about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt and tan colored shorts.
