A woman was treated for puncture wounds after being bitten by a pit bull breed of dog on the Waihe’e Ridge Trail Sunday, above Maluhia Road.
Maui rescue crews and first responders answered a 9:09 a.m. call Sunday from hikers who reported that an aggressive dog would not let them pass through the area. Animal Control officers captured the dog, allowing the hikers to continue their trek.
The woman suffered two puncture wounds. She was treated and released. The owner of the pit bull is unknown.
