The National Weather Service has extended the WIND ADVISORY for MAUI COUNTY, now in effect until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph or gusts of at least 50 mph are expected.
EFFECTS: Expect east winds of 20 to 35 mph with localized gusts over 50 mph through 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The stronger winds will be concentrated over Lanai, Kahoolawe and the west Maui mountains and central valley.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: WINDS THIS STRONG CAN BRING DOWN TREE BRANCHES AND MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION.
