Two Maui Police Department veteran sergeants have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Their promotions become effective on April 16.
Scott Migita began his career with the Maui Police Department in April, 1992. After graduating from the Police Recruit Academy, he was assigned to the Wailuku Patrol Division, the Lanai District, and then Lahaina Patrol Division, where he also served as a Bike Patrol Officer. Scott transferred to the Vice Division, Narcotics Unit as an investigator in 2006 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned as an Administrative Sergeant in the Wailuku Patrol Division. In 2007, he was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division as a Property Crimes Detective and Domestic Violence Unit Sergeant. He and his wife, Dawn, have two daughters, Kayce and Torie.
Ryan Rodrigues began his career with the Maui Police Department in July of 1990. After graduating from the Police Recruit Academy, he was assigned to the Wailuku Patrol Division where he served with the Crime Reduction Unit, Field Training Officer, and a Community Police Officer. He later transferred to the Plans, Training and Research Section in 2001 as an assistant recruit class coordinator. Ryan was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2009 and assigned to Lanai Patrol for a year, then to Wailuku Patrol as the Administrative Sergeant. In 2010, he transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division as a Detective. In 2012, he was transferred to the Internal Affairs Section and assigned to the Office of the Chief. Ryan and his wife, Dannette, have three children, Ryllah-Rae, Rory, and Raven-Lee, and three grandchildren, Roah, Liam, and Alika.
