The National Weather Service in Honolulu has EXTENDED the HIGH SURF ADVISORY for EAST FACING SHORES of MOLOKAI and MAUI, in effect until 6:00 a.m. THURSDAY.
A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area, producing rip currents and localized beach erosion.
EFFECTS: Surf along east facing shores will be 6 to 8 feet and will remain elevated through tonight.
Forecast surf heights are estimates of the height of the face or front of waves.
EXPECT STRONG BREAKING WAVES, SHORE BREAK AND STRONG CURRENTS MAKING SWIMMING DANGEROUS.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: HEED ALL ADVICE GIVEN BY OCEAN SAFETY OFFICIALS AND BE CAREFUL.
