The National Weather Service in Honolulu has continued a WIND ADVISORY for MOLOKAI WINDWARD, MOLOKAI WINDWARD WEST, MAUI WINDWARD WEST, and WINDWARD HALEAKALA in effect until 6:00 p.m. tonight.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph or gusts of at least 50 mph are expected.
Locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to Kalaupapa, Wailuku, Hana and Makawao.
EFFECTS: Expect northeast winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts over 50 mph through late this afternoon.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: WINDS THIS STRONG CAN BRING DOWN TREE BRANCHES AND MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION.
