WAILUKU – A section of Hansen Road will be closed between Mokulele Highway and Pulehu Road for approximately two days next week to allow the removal of deadwood branches overhanging the road.
The affected section of Hansen road is scheduled to close at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, and reopen the afternoon of Friday, March 21. The deadwood branches being removed are overhanging the heavily-traveled Hansen Road corridor and posing hazards to the area.
The public’s understanding and patience during the closure are appreciated as workers address this important safety issue. An earlier press release stated that crews would be removing entire trees. That fact has been updated, as noted above. In addition to still assuring safe passage for Hansen Road users, it also means the road will be closed for a shorter length of time.
