The boyfriends of Maui’s two missing women have been declared “persons of interest.” That announcement is being released at this hour in the Maui Police Department headquarters in Wailuku.
Moreira “Mo” Monsalve has been missing since January 12. The 47 year-old Wailuku mother was last seen at the home of her ex-boyfriend, Bernard Brown. She left to take her daughter to Kahului Airport and has not been heard from since.
Last week, 27 year-old Carly J. “Charli” Scott went missing. The Makawao woman is five months pregnant. Her ex-boyfriend, Steven Capobianco, is the last person who reported seeing her alive while she was following him along Hana Highway after helping the man when his car broke down.
Both men have been interviewed by Police. After being declared “not a person of interest,” Brown moved to California. Capobianco has not been reported to have left Maui. Evidence in both cases has been collected and analyzed by Maui Police.
More details will be released as soon as they are available. Tonight at 6:30 p.m., Maui Police are scheduled to address the Kihei Community Association in the Kihei Charter School Auditorium in the Lipoa Center in Kihei.
