A two year-old boy remains in critical condition at an O’ahu hospital this morning after nearly drowning Monday afternoon at the Kihei Aquatic Center. At 2:56 p.m., Maui Police officers responded to the pools on Lipoa Avenue for reports of a possible drowning.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the boy had been found at the bottom of the pool – and that his aunt had pulled him from the water. Lifeguards on duty began CPR on the boy. He was then transported by paramedics to Maui Memorial Medical Center – then flown to O’ahu for further treatment.
