Maui Police have released a few details in the ongoing search for Carly Scott, the 27 year-old Makawao woman who has been missing since Sunday. She is five months pregnant. Family and friends know her as “Charli.”
MPD just released the following details:
“On 02/12/14, a vehicle was located in the Peahi area. The vehicle was burnt; however, the vehicle identification number was still readable and confirmed to be a 1997 Toyota 4runner with plates MDE-889 belonging to Carly J. SCOTT. The vehicle was taken as evidence in this case.
On 02/13/14, the Maui Police Department continued a search for Carly SCOTT in the Haiku area. During the course of the search an individual, who was part of a private search party, found possible evidence. This evidence was recovered by police for further investigation.
The search and investigation of Carly SCOTT is still ongoing by the Maui Police Department. We are asking anyone who is assisting in the search to call the Department if they find any suspicious items, however, please do not touch, move, or recover the item as it may be evidence in this case or another case that the Department is investigating.
The Department continues to follow up on all leads and is using other available resources to help in the investigation. We want to thank the media and public for their assistance.”
