The high wind advisory for Maui and the state has expired. Also, the high surf advisory for east facing shores will likely expire overnight. The weather-making system that brought brief showers to leeward Maui and downpours to east Maui has moved eastward, diminishing its effect on the state.
Another weather front is approaching the state from the northwest and may begin to drop showers on Kaua’i and O’ahu tonight. Meanwhile, Maui and the Big Island will see winds slack off between systems. That may bring a brief episode of increased vog to the Valley Isle Thursday – something wonderfully missing for several days.
Maui meteorologist Glenn James says that front approaching from the northwest may reach across the state by this weekend.
