The intensely tragic news was confirmed today that – in all likelihood – Jean Kini Chang was killed when her car went over a cliff near Kahakuloa last month.
Today Maui Police confirmed their findings, but have yet to release her identity officially. They have, however, indicated there is no suspicion of foul play.
Last Friday, January 4, at 1:26 p.m., Maui Police responded to Kahekili Highway area of Mile Post 10 for reports of a vehicle that was located at the bottom of a ravine. Within the vehicle were the remains of a female victim. The vehicle, a 2005 BMW model Z4, was confirmed to be owned by Jean Kini Chang who was reported missing since December 19.
The female victim has not yet been positively identified and cause of death has not been determined. Detectives have ruled out any type of foul play through investigation.
