UPDATE: As of 2 p.m. today, crews have cleared the road and reopened Crater Road at Mile Marker 1.
High winds have toppled a tree branch Upcountry – temporarily closing Haleakala Crater Road at Mile Marker 1. The report came in shortly before noon today. National Park crews and utility teams are working to remove the debris to reopen the road. As of 1:45 p.m., repairs were not yet complete – meaning the road is still closed.
