A woman in Honolulu briefly escaped from Police custody – but was captured in about 30 minutes.
Hawai’i Department of Public Safety spokesperson Toni Schwartz, said that – at approximately 2:25 p.m. today, Elloise Ysaol and five other females were being moved into courtroom 7C at Honolulu District Court. They were in the hallway on the secured side, between the holding cells and the courtrooms when Ysaol bolted into an emergency exit. She was wearing shackles. Sheriff Deputies secured the building and began the search. Ysaol was caught in the stairwell at the 11th floor at approximately 3 p.m.
She was an overnight arrest from HPD. Her charge was Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle (UEMV). She will also be charged with Attempted Escape.
