Low-cost airline Allegiant said Tuesday that it will begin flying to Honolulu from Fresno, Calif., and its hub in Las Vegas in late June.
The flights from Las Vegas to Honolulu will start on June 29, while the flights from Fresno to Hawaii will start a day later on June 30, Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel Co. (Nasdaq: ALGT) said in a statement.
The airline has priced the flights at an introductory fare of $174 each way.
“The announcement of service to Hawaii is a great achievement for Allegiant,” President Andrew C. Levy said in a statement. “Service to Las Vegas and Fresno reflects a moderate growth plan by our company.”
The airline has recently acquired four additional aircraft and plans to expand to other Mainland cities in the future, Levy said.
The airline announced its plans two years ago to acquire six Boeing 757-200 aircraft and begin flying to Hawaii.
