Hospital Foundation Names New Director

04 Apr 2012 - 6:58 pm

The Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Lisa Varde, CFRE as executive director, effective May 1. She succeeds Ululani “Lani” Correa, who will be retiring on April 30. Varde has served as the foundation’s development specialist since January, 2011.

She holds a B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and is a certified fundraising executive with over 15 years of experience in non-profit fund development. Before joining MMMC Foundation, she was the director of development for the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. “On behalf of the entire hospital foundation board and our search committee, which evaluated candidates from all over the nation, I wish to congratulate Lisa on her appointment as executive director,” said Sarajean Tokunaga, MMMC Foundation Board President. “Lisa’s fundraising expertise, leadership and passion – and the strong working relationships she has established within the hospital and community at large – will ensure the foundation’s growth as we move forward in this exciting time for our hospital and the community it serves.” Tokunaga also expressed the board’s gratitude for Correa’s “heartfelt, tireless work” and many accomplishments during her tenure. “We wish Lani the best and look forward to her continued support of the foundation as she enjoys her well-deserved retirement,” she added.

Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting MMMC in its mission, development, and provision of medical care.
