Native Affairs, Military Rights Come Before Committee Today

The Office of the Hawai’i State House of Representatives has released the following list of “Bills of Importance” set to come before specified committees today:

The purpose of this informational briefing is to ascertain the Administration’s position with respect to the impact of current legislation that proposes to exempt development projects from State laws and County ordinances that protect traditional and customary rights, practices and resources.  Such legislation includes, but is not limited to S.B. 3011 S.D.2, H.D.2, S.B.755 SD2, H.D.2, S.B. 775, H.D. 2, S.B. 2534, S.D.2, H.D.1, S.B. 3011, S.D. 2, H.D. 1, S.B. 2873, S.D. 1, H.D. 2, S.B. 2918, S.D. 2, H.D. 1 and S.B. 2335, H.D. 1. At this point in the legislative session, this Committee believes that it is necessary to ascertain the position of the Administration and to examine the potential impact of such legislation upon our State and cultural resources.

SB2288 RELATING TO ENERGY

Applies the renewable energy technologies tax credit on a per-property basis. Prohibits a taxpayer from claiming the renewable energy technologies income tax credit for a renewable energy system installed for, a power purchase agreement with any government agency. Increases the credit for systems installed on various types of properties. Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds for renewable energy systems for state facilities. Applies to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2012. Effective July 1, 2030. (SB2288 HD1)
