Four units of the Maui Fire Department responded to a Lahaina fire this morning. Units E-3, L-3,BC-4, and E-11 responded to a reported structure fire at 58 Aholo Road, Lahaina. UPDATE: Fire investigators have not determined the cause of the blaze – but say they have ruled out arson. Damage to the structure is calculated at $30,000 and $5,000 in damage to the contents.
Units arrived to a two-story wooden home with smoke showing from the second floor. Firefighters made entry and found a mattress on fire in a bedroom. The fire was contained to the room of origin. fire was contained at 8:41 a.m. and extinguished at 9:03 a.m.
Six people occupied the home, all were out at the time of the fire. No injuries reported.
Investigation being conducted – no other information available.
