The Hawaii Senate’s Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee voted to recommend confirmation of Gov. Neil Abercrombie‘s 11 appointees to the state’s first health insurance exchange, a vote that could happen as early as Monday.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the committee voted to recommend the full Senate confirm the appointees even as lawmakers consider Senate Bill 2434, which would exclude representatives of health insurers and providers from serving on the board. The bill is awaiting a hearing by the House Finance Committee.
