Maui Fire Crews were extremely busy Saturday and early Sunday. At 2:37 this morning, crews responded to a reported structure fire at 575 South Kihei Road – the Maui Lu Resort. Units E-6, E-14, L-14, T-14, and R-10 responded to the Maui Lu for a 20′ x 30′ building on fire. E-6 first to arrive finds the structure, located on the South side of the property, by the Luau grounds, fully involved upon arrival. 

The structure was totally destroyed. The fire is extinguished and a Fire Prevention investigator is on scene. There were no injuries reported. 

Engine 6 first on scene at 2:41 a.m. and had the fire under control seven minutes later.

Damages:  Structure – $40,000.00; Contents – $5,000.00

Structure involved was utilized as a dressing room.

Cause undetermined after investigation
