Emergency crews from the Maui Fire Department responded to a stream bed near the address of 260 Honopou Road in Haiku to assist Medics for a 61 year old female hiker who fell. The woman, a visitor, fell while walking in the stream bed, possibly breaking her left ankle. Due to the steep narrow trail and muddy conditions, it was decided to airlift the patient out of the stream bed.

Air-1 along with Rescue 10 personnel, arrived and picked up the patient. The patient was flown to a landing zone just off of Puniawa road, where she was loaded into an ambulance and transported to the hospital.

Injuries were non life threatening.
