Electrical service has been restored to customers in Haiku area as of 8:38 a.m. today.

Maui Electric Company apologizes for any inconvenience this situation may have caused and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.

Earlier this morning MECO announced that the following areas were without power: Areas of Haiku bounded by Kokomo Rd, Haiku Rd, Kauhikoa Rd, East & West Kuiaha Rd, Peahi Rd, Hana Hwy, Kaupakalua Rd, Awalau Rd, Upper Ulumalu Rd, and laterals.
