After three days of intensive searches, Maui Fire Department crews have abandoned their search for a missing kayaker.
At 6 p.m. Friday, crews suspended their efforts after land, sea and air searched redveled no clues to the whereabouts of 55 year-old Torry Durrell – whose kayak was found adrift in about 60 feet of water off Kalepolepo Park in Kihei on Wednesday.
The Coast Guard ended their search efforts Thursday night after covering more than 272 square miles of ocean and shoreline.
