On Wednesday this week, shortrly after 5 p.m., police, and fire personnel responded to a residence on Airport Loop in Hoolehua, Molokai, Hawaii , for an accident that involved a four-year old boy who had been run over by a tractor.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the boy had been riding on the tractor which was being driven by his grandfather, Walter MENDES, and had stepped off of the tractor when the tractor came to a stop.  According to the investigation, MENDES reached out to grab his grandson  and pull him back onto the tractor, however, his foot slipped off of the clutch which caused the tractor to move forward, thus running over his grandson.

The victim, Elijah HUFF Jr (4 yr), who suffered possible arm and head injuries,  was air lifted to the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii for treatment.  The victim was listed in stable condition.

Police have classified the case as an accident.
